Fish Vindaye
Fried fish is combined with mustard seeds, garlic, turmeric, chilli and onions pickled in vinegar to give it a distinctive taste and flavour.
Ingredients
- 1 kg tuna or king fish
- 8-10 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoon mustard seeds
- 2 red chilies
- 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
- 3 medium onions, sliced
- 10 medium green chilies, sliced lengthwise
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- Oil
Instructions
- Marinate the onion in vinegar for about 15 minutes
- Add salt and pepper to the fish
- Heat oil in deep frying pan, fry the fish until golden brown
- Drain excess oil from the fish and put it on a paper towel, cut them into medium pieces
- Combine the mustard seeds, cloves of garlic, red chili and some water and grind into a fine paste
- In a pan heat 3 tablespoon oil, then add the turmeric powder, ground mustard, garlic and chili paste and keep stirring
- Turn off the heat and add the fried fish pieces
- Combine the fish with the spices
- Add the onions and the sliced chilies and mix well
- Add salt to taste
- Store in a jar in the fridge
